Live performance interacts with filmed animation and special effects for this magical production for young audiences. Two friends dance and play with their imaginary friends - their shadows – which transform, disappear and re-appear.
My Shadows and Me is for Reception – Year 2 classes. Bombastic offers a package of performances at theatres and project linked workshops in schools. The company also offer family performances in theatre venues.
Technical
Requirements for the performance:
Smooth Floor, preferably with a dance floor.
Full black out. Performing area at least
9m deep x 6m
wide. Smaller spaces may be possible if access
to a backstage area (e.g scene dock) for
projecting back projected images onto a screen
that should
be 3m from the projector. The screen need
to be 4m from the front edge of the performance
space.
Access to stage lighting around the performance
space.10 dimmable channels and a programmable
lighting desk. 16 fresnels and 2 profiles.
Full sound system
and CD player.

Cart-wheeling, twirling and general upside down fun were my favourite things when I was little. I’m much taller now but I still haven’t grown out of it all yet. I enjoy it so much I now choreograph for my own company as well as dance for other companies, like Bombastic.

I’ve always loved the magic of 'lets pretend' and dressing up as different characters, generally the noisier the better – so beware!
Being able to bring hundreds of characters to life through the verycool world of dance theatre while working as a performer for the last
8 years has made for the most amazing career. Remember dance doesn’t always have to be sensible, have fun!
